ABOUT THE EVENT

We have had so much demand for this event, that the Burbage Heritage Group have kindly agreed to run this popular walk for a second time, this Festival.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War — a milestone worth reflecting upon.

In commemoration, the Burbage Heritage Group will publish a book that shares the personal stories of 32 men from our community who made the ultimate sacrifice during the conflict. Their names are proudly listed on our magnificent war memorial.

To honour their memory, we invite you to join us on a mile walk through the heart of Burbage. The route highlights key locations from the early 1940s, offering insight into the buildings, homes, and events that shaped the village and played a role in these remarkable stories.
